Raven Reads Gives Back to First Nations Caring Society

Raven Reads believes in giving back to the community.

Our inaugural box in October 2017, featured Seven Fallen Feathers, a novel by Tanya Talaga, that featured the tragic stories of seven Indigenous youth from northern Ontario. The seven were hundreds of miles away from their families, forced to leave home and live in a foreign and unwelcoming city. Five were found dead in the rivers surrounding Lake Superior.

In 2018, Raven Reads committed $1 from each box sold back to the First Nations Caring Society.

So, thanks to you, and because we sold 1,700 boxes in 2018, today we donated $1,700 to the First Nations Caring Society to support their ongoing work with Indigenous and non-Indigenous people of all ages and organizations to ensure First Nations children and young people have the same opportunities as others to grow up safely at home, be healthy, and achieve their dreams.

We look forward to your ongoing support to promote the conversation of reconciliation and improving relationships for all of us. One page at a time.
