The confidentiality and security of our customers' personal information is very important to us. Please read below for a full explanation of how we treat the personal information you submit to us.

INFORMATION REQUESTED

The information we request from you is minimal and is gathered solely to register/maintain you as an Raven Reads customer and/or to register/maintain you as a subscriber to our mailing list. The standard information we request when you sign up to Raven Reads via our Website is as follows: e-mail address, full name of recipient, shipping address, phone number (optional) billing information (credit card number, billing ZIP code, billing country, CVC) (“Personal Information”).

Raven Reads uses this information to process and ship your orders and to keep you up to date with your shipments and occasional Raven Reads promotions. We gather no information from you other than the information you voluntarily provide and Raven Reads will never sell, rent or disclose any of your Personal Information with third parties for marketing purposes. Raven Reads uses industry standard encryption techniques and stores all personally identifying information in a secure manner.

WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

Raven Reads uses your Personal Information with a view to give you a high-quality customer experience. We will use your e-mail address as our primary source of communication with you and will send monthly notifications regarding the renewal of your subscription and the shipping and tracking of your monthly Raven Reads order. We will also use your e-mail to contact you personally if we find any errors with your account (e.g. invalid shipping address due to typo). If you are signed up to our mailing list, you will receive occasional promotional e-mails from us. If ever you wish to stop receiving these e-mails, there is an 'Unsubscribe' link at the bottom of each e-mail that you can click to remove your e-mail address from our list. If you leave an item in your shopping cart, but have entered your e-mail address at the start of Checkout, you may receive 1 to 3 e-mails encouraging you to return to the website and complete your sale. You can always unsubscribe from these e-mails by clicking the 'Unsubscribe' link at the bottom of the e-mail. Any concerns whatsoever in regard to this can be sent to support@ravenreads.org.

COOKIES

If cookies are enabled on your web browser, small amounts of data will be stored on your hard drive when you visit websites (including www.ravenreads.org). We use cookies to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart and to track your preferences when browsing the website. You can disable cookies by altering your browser settings. You will still be able to access our website if you disable cookies, however the advanced and customized features that cookies provide will not be available to you.

HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SECURE?

Raven Reads takes all commercially reasonable precautions to safeguard your Personal Information. If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards. Your Personal Information is only used by those Raven Reads employees who need to use the information in order to perform those duties which will assist in our service to you.

Although the precautions above are implemented on our website, security during internet transmissions can never be fully assured. As such, Raven Reads cannot guarantee complete security of Personal Information, since this level of security cannot currently be achieved on the internet. Users must therefore accept all risks associated with data-transmission on the internet (and thus on www.ravenreads.org), including the potential interception of their Personal Information while in transit.

SHOPIFY

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment:

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Raven Reads will not knowingly collect Personal Information from visitors younger than thirteen (13) years of age. We encourage parents to talk to their children about their use of the Internet and the information they disclose on websites. Parents are also advised to research and if necessary utilize Parental Control tools to prevent children from submitting information online without parental consent. If you are at all worried that your child has submitted Personal Information to us online, please reach out to us at support@ravenreads.org and we will take immediate action to remove this information from our servers.

CHANGES IN COMPANY STRUCTURE

In the event of the sale, transfer or merging of certain company assets (i.e. the company itself or parts of the company), user information (including Personal Information) may constitute one of the transferred assets. If required by law, we will notify users of such transfer.

CHANGES TO PRIVACY POLICY

Occasionally we will update our Privacy Policy in order to accommodate new changes in the online environment. We will post the revised policy here so you will be aware of the information we collect and the use to which we put that information. Changes to our Privacy Policy will be deemed to be effective from the date of posting, unless specified otherwise. If any significant material changes to this policy take effect, we will do our best to inform our users of these changes ahead of time via e-mail.
